Swami Dayanand Saraswati was one of the most radical socio-religious reformers in the history of India. He was the founder of Arya Samaj and propagated egalitarian approach of the Vedas at a time when widespread castism was prevalent in the society. He was responsible for the revival of the Indian education system by bringing together pupil from different strata of the society under one umbrella, that is, classroom.
Dayanand Anglo Vedic School system familiarly known as DAV Public School systems, is based on the ideals of the religious and social reformer Swami Dayanand Saraswati. DAV system comprises of educational institutes spread all over the world. The movement has been reforming and redefining India’s educational scenario for 138 years. Founded in Lahore on June 1, 1886 and Lala Hansraj was its first Headmaster.
Now, the DAV movement has grown to become the single largest non-governmental educational society in the country managing more than 900 institutions which are run by DAV College Trust and Management Society.
